Maquinagem observa a organização da vida urbana a partir de seus ritmos de trabalho, deslocamento e repetição. O filme se constrói no contato direto com um território marcado pela produção contínua, onde o canteiro de obras não é apenas cenário, mas modelo de funcionamento. A montagem acompanha o próprio ritmo construtivo: gestos circulares, movimentos repetidos e pequenas variações que só revelam transformação após longos intervalos. A repetição surge menos como recurso expressivo do que como método de observação, aproximando o olhar do tempo dilatado do trabalho manual. Entre esses blocos de labor, surgem imagens do cotidiano: um garoto jogando futebol, pessoas caminhando, breves momentos de pausa. Essas cenas não se opõem ao trabalho; elas o atravessam, revelando como a vida urbana se organiza por ciclos de esforço, espera e deslocamento.
Machination examines the organisation of urban life through its rhythms of work, movement and repetition. The film is constructed through direct engagement with a territory characterised by continuous production, where the building site is not merely a setting, but a model of how things operate. The editing follows the very rhythm of construction: circular gestures, repeated movements and small variations that only reveal transformation after long intervals. Repetition emerges less as an expressive device than as a method of observation, bringing the viewer’s gaze closer to the extended time of manual labour. Amidst these blocks of labour, images of everyday life emerge: a boy playing football, people walking, brief moments of respite. These scenes do not stand in opposition to the work; they run through it, revealing how urban life is organised into cycles of effort, waiting and movement.
